Istanbul, with its historic peninsula, and numerous scenic and historical beauties, is a magnificently unique city that has been the capital of many civilizations. Its history dates back 300 thousand years, and it constitutes a mosaic of many civilizations and cultures. With the Black Sea in the North, the Marmara Sea in the South, and the Istanbul Strait running in all its glory through the city’s centre, Istanbul separates the continents of Europe and Asia. Its strategic position on the historic Silk Road, its rail networks to Europe and the Middle East, and its position on the only sea route between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean, have all produced a cosmopolitan populace where one can encounter people from different countries, and witness diverse cultures blending.

Cappadocia is Turkey's most visually striking region, famous for erosion-formed caves, clefts, pinnacles, "fairy chimneys", and sensuous folds in the soft volcanic rock. The fantastical topography is matched by the area’s human history. People have long utilised the region's soft stone, seeking shelter underground and leaving the countryside scattered with fascinating troglodyte-style architecture. The fresco-adorned rock-cut churches of Göreme, the Open - Air Museum, and the subterranean refuges of Derinkuyu and Kaymaklı are the most famous sights, while simply bedding down in one of Cappadocia's cave hotels is an experience in a 21st Century cavern dwelling. Cappadocia's accordion-ridged valleys, shaded in a palette of dusky orange and cream, are the stuff of psychedelic daydreams.

Afterwards, proceed for a full-day guided sightseeing tour of Cappadocia, visiting the Citadel of Uçhisar, the highest point of Cappadocia. This is a huge rock castle with almost 300 caves as well as the Göreme Open-air Museum and the biggest monastery of Cappadocia from Byzantine times. The cave churches are beautifully decorated with frescos.

Post lunch in a local restaurant, continue to Paşabağ Valley, the most interesting part of Cappadocia in terms of landscapes. Witness the biggest Fairy Chimneys (Mushroom shape rocks) and continue to Avanos. The handicraft centre of Cappadocia, Avanos has been the centre of pottery for 4000 years.

Visit Devrent Valley, famous for its new rock formations.

Return to hotel at 18:00 hrs.

Dinner and overnight  stay at the hotel.

Day 4 In Cappadocia

Post breakfast, depart at 9:30 hrs for a full-day guided sightseeing tour of Cappadocia, visiting Rose Valley and Goreme.

Set off to Red Valley for a 4 km hike in nature. Visit a cave church, then continue to Cavusin Village and enjoy free time to explore the abandoned Cave Village.

Post lunch in a local restaurant, continue to Kaymakli Underground City, an underground city from Byzantine times, and Pigeon Valley, a beautiful panorama of cave pigeon houses, and finally Uchisar Castle.

Return to hotel at 18:00 hrs.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
